The Mind Ponders

Allot of thought have crossed my mind on how we are as a society these days, how we differ from our ancestors from many moons ago.  As technology grows at a vast pace we are evolving in a strange way unlike any other evolution on this planet.  At what cost do we owe our advancements on this earth,  we may not pay the heavy toll today but future generations will,  socially and environmentally they will suffer.

A strange obscure disconnection is happening within our society, as hyperspace thrives within every home we connect to another world built from cables and circuits.  There we seem free from the constraints of reality, able to depict ourself in a better light.  Anyone can become anything in this place it is wonderful yet terrifying.

It is believed by some that we do not need such devices to be connected that we are all connected by the cosmos.  Is every being connected through a higher power.  Could we have de-evolved ourself s through our technological advancement?  Through our systems, rules and regulations.  Stamping out creativity, that the mundane every day would deem a bit far fetched?

Battling with thy self!

So I'm hell bent on getting a handle on portraiture, I figured the best way to start is with my own portrait. As I have done before.
I feel that as an artist, being able to do a self portrait successfully is a big part of self acceptance....

I have started using a mirror, which is why I look peaved off in them due to my frustration venting throo the drawings but guess it's a part of the proccess.

First study in stages starting with biro pen, blue ink an then white oil pastel.
Second study is a more loose biro scketch which I then built up on with oil pastels. Using layers to create form.
I also found that using the tale end of a paint brush to scrape back the layers of pastel proved very effective, as you will see in the close up I took....

Another process unfolded

Continued from last night's endeavor, I have used one my prints from the original drawing and worked into it with a simple fine liner.  Finding yet more shape and form to create a composition within a composition...

Above is the photo I printed out from my original drawing.

Above this is after I drew on top of this in a bid to create another design.

Here is the same drawing photographed in grey scale photographed upside down.  I prefer it that way if this was to become a bigger piece.  The space at the top breaks it up a bit, for mellower backround.  Could turn it 

into a strange landscape, lost the dog mind you, but that is the idea of abstractism.

Lost in the moment!

I have a folder full of photo's I took of moments or scenery that have inspired me to be creative.
With the hope that I may produce pieces from them.  I started a drawing based on a photo of my Dog (Layla) playing in the snow.  I always feel great joy out of seeing her play when we are out on our daily jaunts.

So from this photo I got out my pro markers an began to play around with it, this then escalated into printing a couple print outs an playing with the shape.  From then on I was lost in the moment as the dog was when I took the photo.......

Has been a while since I have done any creative stuff due to moving out our house and then back in and decorating.  Anyhoo your here for the art not my life story.......

Here is my picture and my ideas I have developed from them.....

                      My Drawing from this, using elements from shapes of Laylas body an shadow
                      The rest of the images are photographs I took of the original drawing, with various effects
                      on my camera.  I will use these to develop further.

So from looking at the I can now create more ideas an hopefully this will grow into something big....

Here is the final piece of Art I chose to do from my ideas above. This is a mixed media collage with multiple layers of painting and drawing on top of the various textures.  It is approximately 20" wide by 30" hight,  I used an old kitchen board, which I cut to size and primed

Interesting Artist...... Eyal Gever

I just came across this Artist Eyal Gever,  he uses computers to design his sculptures, then he creates them.

Its amazing to see the cross between multi media tools and real life size sculptures.....

Alexa Meade

On youtube checking out arty stuff and I came accross Alexa Meade, a painter from America.  Her subjects are the real thing in which she recreates into a painting.  Pretty amazing live 3 dimentional artworks.  Her self portraits look amazing I love this unique style......
